One step at a time into the valley of Eternity. Sometimes the best landscapes are those we don’t notice and leave behind. It was a Sunday morning, and we had to leave a party in the forest because we had work the next day. After an hour of walking through hills and woods, we finally reached the car. Sweaty, tired, and disoriented, we had to cut through the fields to avoid a police car parked on the road. We hadn’t done anything wrong; I just didn’t want any trouble.

Once we reached the end of the field, we found our car, but I realized I had lost my friend. I turned around, and there she was, slowly moving through the field under the hot sun of Andalusia. The landscape felt immense, desolate, and dry. It felt frozen in time as my friend slowly caught up to us. The struggle of the voyage was coming to an end, and there she was: coming toward us, one step at a time, through the valley of Eternity. Andalusia, Spain, 2025.
